Assessment

Computer Marked Assignments (CMA)

These are open book assignments that allow the university to assess your understanding and progress. The questions are presented in a multiple choice format. Your responses to the questions are entered on a standard form, and marked by a computer upon receipt at the University. Marks are included as part of your continual assessment.

Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA)

These are a written piece of work marked by your personal tutor. They encourage the application of knowledge gained during the course to practical problems. Marks are included as part of the overall assessment.

End Test

This is an end of unit test at a regional test centre (usually a local college). The test is normally held on the middle Thursday in June of each year. The date and time of the test are given in the study timetable. DO NOT BOOK HOLIDAYS WHEN TESTS ARE DUE.

Results

Test and coursework results are sent at regular intervals to both students and company contacts.
