Following a review of card schemes, LEIA has consulted with CSCS to change the allocation of the Testers Card to a group that is appropriate for the role Testing individual’s conduct on construction sites.
From 1st September 2020 – Lift and Escalator Tester occupation will move from the Black Manager card to Gold Supervisor card.
Acceptable Qualifications required for the application will include:
EAL NVQ Lv4 units Certificate LET01 (UC/401, UC/402 UT/403 UT/405) and EAL Level 4 Certificate in Performing and Testing Operations in the Lift and Escalator Industry 500/4286/5.
The required Health and Safety Test is the Specialist Supervisory. CITB Test reference SPEC-SUP N.B. If you have completed the Managers and Professionals H&S Test in anticipation of renewing the Black Manager card, this will be accepted in place of the Specialist Supervisory Test.
What if I still require a Managerial level Black CSCS card for my job role? Previous awarding of the card will no longer be valid evidence or reason for renewal.
In order to successfully renew or claim the Managers Card, applicants must have completed the one of the following routes:
> A relevant Construction Management/Technical related NVQ/SVQ level 5, 6 or 7
> A SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management/Technical related qualification
> Holding a pre-existing NVQ level 4 in construction management
